Basic Yeast Donuts

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 4 tsps. dry yeast

Place all in a cup, mix well and let sit till foamy.

In a mixer bowl:

  • 4-3/4 cups flour
  • 3-1/2 oz melted butter (7 tbsps.)
  • 2 tbsps. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • yeast mixture

Mix altogether to make a nice soft dough.  Place in a greased bowl, cover and let sit for 1 hours.

Roll out 1/2″ thick and cut with cutters of your choice.

Let sit covered for about 15-20 minutes

Heat oil 375 degrees

Cook about 1 minute per side – drain

Either roll in sugar, fill or glaze

Chocolate Glaze

  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate bits
  • 2 tbsps. butter
  • 2 tsp light corn syrup
  • 2 tsp water

Microwave in 20 second intervals until chocolate is melted.  Mix well to blend.  Dip in donuts!
