- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 cup good quality white baking chips, melted and cooled3-1/2 cups
- flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Mix butter, sugar, vanilla and egg in mixer. Add melted chocolate and blend well.
Mix the flour, baking soda and salt and then add to the chocolate mixture. Remove and refrigerate at least 4 hours.
Take a well rounded teaspoon of dough and divide in half. Roll each half to about a 5″ rope. Twist the ropes together, tapering at one end. At the other end, using a toothpick, make a hole for a string or ribbon later in order to hang it as an ornament.
Bake at 375 degrees for 9-11 minutes or until just set. Remove and cool completely
Icing:
2 cups confectioners sugar
1/4 tsp almond extract
2 or more tbsps of milk or enough to make a paintable glaze.
“Paint” the cookies with the glaze and immediately drizzle with sparkling sugar. Let dry till glaze is set.
These freeze very well.
